There was a Photo Challenge in the month of February, and as usual I sign up thinking 'no sweat I can do this', but then it comes to the end and I either scramble to finish finding photos to shoot or run out of time to post photos in time - which was the case this time. Well, we are experiencing a heat wave here - with humid temperatures that we are not used to one bit! So my husband came home with this lovely unit that makes sleeping more pleasant for our family!and well, since Lucerne Frozen Treats were on sale last week at Safeway, my freezer is embarrassingly stocked well with fudgesicles, popsicles and ice cream sandwiches!We're KEEPING COOL, Baby!

This past week we were in the State of Oregon for a Family Vacation - we just LOVE it there! :)
We visit a little candy shop in the town of Seaside more than once on trip every year. This shop is filled with rows of Salt Water Taffy - here is one variety available this week!
It's not the best picture (out of focus a bit) - but it's an appropriate one for today!

We are going to use my blog Phun with Photography to host a little photo hunt for the month of July.

We are on vacation along the Oregon Coast this week!
I am glad I learnt of this window views meme earlier this week and happened upon some neat window shots.

Everything in my backyard is new to me since we moved into this house in November - so it's been an exciting Spring seeing the changes being made before our eyes as if it is a Surprise Party all Season long!

This afternoon I took pictures of my son's shadows as he played with a basketball - I've chosen three to share for the following reasons...

I like this one because you can see all 5 fingers on his hand as he dribbles the ball:
I like that this one shows his hand's shadow on the ball:
And although this one doesn't fill the frame like I would like it to (because I was "chasing" his shadow around), I like the basketball hoop's shadow included:

Sky Watch Friday - snowing blossoms

There is a gentle breeze today that is blowing these blossoms off and down into our backyard... it's actually quite pretty. I keep telling my kids "it's snowing!" ~ thankfully it's not, it's beautiful out!

Sweetsauer Photo Hunt #1

Okay - time has come for the Sweetsauer Photo Hunt unveiling! :) Here is my accomplishment of the list of 26:

down this ramp we made off of our deck onto our lawn21. Lights at Night ~ I love the shadows this light in my staircase gives off 22. a silhouette ~ 23. something historical (pre-1900) ~ this location, as noted in the 2nd photo, marks a special spot of Captain George Vancouver in 1792 24. a shot from an unusual perspective ~ there was a detorted plastic mirror for the kids at the playground under the slide - I looked in it and took this shot looking back out 25. Flowers ~ newly blooming Rhododendron bush in my backyard26. self-portrait ~ in that same detorted mirror - a picture of moi!

ABC Wednesday - Letter O

Well, one of our favourite places to go is OREGON!!! Many Canadians in our neck of the woods flock down South for a trip to the ocean and to Portland for tax-free shopping - which we just LOVE!!! Here are some photos from our trip there last summer - only a couple months until we visit again.

Heading to the beach with buckets, boogie board and blankets:the water is so cold most of the time, not sure how they like it?!our vacation destinations are Seaside and Cannon Beach (as well as Portland for the different attractions and shopping):and our favourite treat in Seaside is Tillamook Ice Cream for only 75c a cone!to visit more photo adventures having to do with "o", please visit:

I couldn't decide what to do for this, but I did decide to use a picture of my Grandfather's Jacket with well-earned medals from his War Days - to serve and protect ~ we celebrated his life of 93 years this past week.

I didn't know which one to post - yesterday we were up on a "mountain" (not like the ones in the 1st photo but more than just a hill) with our Kids to have a picnic and play at the playground... I spotted these two loan trees that stuck out like sore thumbs in different locations on this developed mountain- so really my focus is more on the trees than the sky, but they are "in" my view of the sky...enough said. :)

Margaret Falls

Beautiful British Columbia

Last summer we stopped at these falls on our way home from visiting friends in Salmon Arm, BC. A little walk through the woods to this beautiful waterfall - that also has a little cave in it where people who are daring enough to risk the slippery rock and pretty hard water falling down, go into - like my husband and our Friend!
Here is my husband coming out of the cave on his first "trip" in - can you tell how hard the water is coming down on him as he exits? My Husband came to get our middle son (age 2.5) to go into the cave next!(for more information about these Falls, click the Name of the Falls above)
